In the next couple weeks, Mountain Crest Acquisition Corp is taking Playboy public. The existing ticker MCAC will become PLBY. Special purpose acquisition companies have taken private companies public in recent months with great success. I believe this will be no exception. Notably, Playboy is profitable and has skyrocketing revenue going into a transformational growth phase.
Porn - First and foremost, let's talk about porn. I know what you guys are thinking. “Porno mags are dead. Why would I want to invest in something like that? I can get porn for free online.” Guess what? You are absolutely right. And that’s exactly why Playboy doesn’t do that anymore. That’s right, they eliminated their print division. Gambling - Some of you might recognize the Playboy brand from gambling trips to places like Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Cancun, London or Macau. They’ve been in the gambling biz for decades through their casinos, clubs, and licensed gaming products. They see the writing on the wall. COVID is accelerating the transition to digital, application based GAMBLING. That’s right. What we are doing on Robinhood with risky options is gambling, and the only reason regulators might give a shit anymore is because we are making too much money. Cannabis - If you’ve ever read through a Playboy magazine, you know they’ve had a positive relationship with cannabis for many years. As of September 2020, Playboy has made a major shift into the cannabis space. Too good to be true you say? Check their website. Playboy currently sells a range of CBD products. This is a good sign. Federal hemp products, which these most likely are, can be mailed across state lines and most importantly for a company like Playboy, can operate through a traditional banking institution. CBD products are usually the first step towards the cannabis space for large companies. Playboy didn’t make these products themselves meaning they are working with a processor in the cannabis industry. Another good sign for future expansion. What else do they have for sale? This speaks to their ability to maintain a financially solvent company throughout the transition phase to the aforementioned areas. They’d say some fancy shit like “expanded business model to encompass four key revenue streams: Sexual Wellness, Style & Apparel, Gaming & Lifestyle, and Beauty & Grooming.” I hear “we’re just biding our time with these trinkets until those dollar dollar bill y’all markets are fully up and running.” But the truth is these existing revenue streams are profitable, scalable, and rapidly expanding Playboy’s e-commerce segment around the world.

Ben “The Bridge” Kohn is an interesting guy. He’s the connection between Rizvi Traverse and Playboy. He’s both CEO of Playboy and was previously Managing Partner at Rizvi Traverse. Ben seems to be the voice of the Playboy-Rizvi partnership, which makes sense with Suhail’s privacy concerns. Kohn said this:

These guys are good. They have a proven track record of success across multiple industries. Connections and money run deep with all of these guys. I don’t think they’re in the game to lose.
I was going to write a couple more paragraphs about why you should have a look at this but really the best thing you can do is read this SEC filing from a couple days ago. It explains the situation in far better detail. Specifically, look to page 137 and read through their strategy. Also, look at their ownership percentages and compensation plans including the stock options and their prices. The financials look great, revenue is up 90% Q3, and it looks like a bright future.

I’m hesitant to attach this because his position seems short term, but I’m going to with a warning because he does hit on some good points (two are below his link) and he’s got a sizable position in this thing (500k+ on margin, I think). Current Cultural Significance and Meme Value: A year ago I wouldn’t have included this section but the events from the last several weeks (even going back to tsla) have proven that a company’s ability to meme and/or gain social network popularity can have an effect. Tik-tok, Snapchat, Twitch, Reddit, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter. They all have Playboy stuff on them. Kids in middle and highschool know what Playboy is but will likely never see or touch one of the magazines in person. They’ll have a Playboy hoodie though. Crazy huh? A lot like GME, PLBY would hugely benefit from meme-value stock interest to drive engagement towards their new business model while also building strategic coffers. This interest may not directly and/or significantly move the stock price but can generate significant interest from larger players who will.
Bull Case: The year is 2025. Playboy is now the world leader pleasure brand. They began by offering Playboy licensed gaming products, including gambling products, direct to consumers through existing names. By 2022, demand has skyrocketed and Playboy has designed and released their own gambling platforms. In 2025, they are also a leading cannabis brand in the United States and Canada with proprietary strains and products geared towards sexual wellness. Cannabis was legalized in the US in 2023 when President Biden got glaucoma but had success with cannabis treatment. He personally pushes for cannabis legalization as he steps out of office after his first term. Playboy has also grown their brand in China and India to multi-billion per year markets. The stock goes up from 11ish to 100ish and everyone makes big gains buying somewhere along the way.
Bear Case: The United States does a complete 180 on marijuana and gambling. Q. What is this thing?
It's a competitive score prediction game for the Bundesliga, and if you're reading this you're invited!
Basically, each week you add your best guess about how the Bundesliga fixtures will end. The better your predictions are, the more points you get.
Q. Where do I play / register for this thing?
The game is live at http://www.kicktipp.de/rborussiadortmund/, and if you haven't yet you have to register at http://www.kicktipp.de/rborussiadortmund/mitgliedwerden before you're set. We've made some changes to the way new accounts are activated too, so people signing up during the season should see faster response times.
Q. Is this available in German only?
The prediction game is available in English and German, as well as a number of other languages. Q. How do I play?
Visit the prediction centre site every week before a Bundesliga match day. Enter what you think are the most likely results for all fixtures - not just the ones that Dortmund are playing. Depending on how good your guess is, you get more or less points after the matches end: 1 point if you predicted the correct winner, 2 points if you also predicted the correct goal difference, and 3 points if you predicted the exact score.
Note that you have to submit your prediction for each game before the game kicks off!
Q. What do I win?
As in previous rounds the winner will get an awesome flair to display next to their name on this sub, so you can rub your superior Bundesliga knowledge into all our faces. I was looking though the operator videos and noticed smoke say "I know what you're thinking, what's in the canister?" and that got me thinking about the real-life specs of each operator. So I pose the question: What is the best real world tech that matches up to each of the operators? I'll start off with what I can think of.

• Smoke: Many people seem to think that Smoke's canisters contain mustard gas, due to the yellow color, the IRL history of the SAS using mustard gas, and the use of mustard gas in other IRL op units. However, I think that Smokes canisters actually contain Nitrogen Dioxide. From the wiki:

Direct exposure to the skin can cause irritations and burns. Only very high concentrations of the gaseous form cause immediate distress: 10–20 ppm can cause mild irritation of the nose and throat, 25–50 ppm can cause edema leading to bronchitis or pneumonia, and levels above 100 ppm can cause death due to asphyxiation from fluid in the lungs.

• Thermite: In Thermite's Operator video, he's quoted as saying:

"When you mix fuel, metal oxide, and metal powder in just the right way, it burns at 2000^o Celsius. Hot enough to cut through nearly any barrier known to man."

Sounds straight forward enough, right? Well yea. Thermite (the substance) is usually composed of Iron Oxide and fine Aluminum powder. Also sometimes Sulfur or magnesium additives. Now it's iffy to say whether what's used in game is actually thermite, or if it's thermate. Thermate is made of the same components as Thermite, but with an oxidizer such as barium nitrate. Thermate has a higher burning temperature and is used by the military to decommission artillery and armor. It's honestly hard to tell from in game footage, but I think Thermite actually uses thermate in his gadget.

• Sledge: Has a hammer. Probably made of Iron and fiberglass (for the handle). Source?
  
• Thatcher: This guy's a bit tougher to rationalize. According to This info graphic, Thatcher's EMP is generated by a copper spool that rotates (presumably some kind of generator?). Now an EMP in this size is theoretically possible provided that the power need is kept. Thatcher's EMP now covers a 7 meter sphere. According to this source, the limiting factor to creating a small EMP is voltage. Now just for some guess-work: This guy appears to have created a small EMP powered by a disposable camera capacitor. The effective range of this EMP is just a few inches, so It's not necessarily inconceivable that something with higher voltage and better design could produce a bigger radius. Most commercial capacitors are rated at 3.8 to 4 V, but according to this source, you could make stable capacitors all the way up to 30 to 40 v, which isn't hard to see making a large Electromagnetic Pulse. So it would also make sense that Thatchers grenades also explode after use (being that the power being expelled from it is so high).
  
• Mute: Mute's jammers have a similar science to them as Thatcher's EMP's. Typical jamming signals can differ based on the power provided. According to this we read that
  

  The actual range of the jammer depends on its power and the local environment, which may include hills or walls of a building that block the jamming signal. Low-powered jammers block calls in a range of about 30 feet (9 m). Higher-powered units create a cell-free zone as large as a football field. Units used by law enforcement can shut down service up to 1 mile (1.6 km) from the device.
  

Assuming that the jammers in game are maybe set to a non-standard radio wave (being that mute probably knows the radio length of what the attackers are using), and they appear to be powered by a battery, it's safe to assume that the range of the jammers is actually smaller than would be realistic.
Class calls my name so I must depart. I will return to finish the American Ops by tonight and maybe the French.
Edit 3?: I'm back for a bit. Let's finish out the American Operators.

• Ash: Ash has a fairly simple gadget compared to what we've already covered. It's pretty much a grenade launcher that shoots a drill bit into a wall and then exploding. There isn't much I could find online regarding her gadget, but that IRL, Breaching Rounds are actually a type of shotgun munition with a very different operation. FUN FACT though, the name of Ash's breaching round, the 'M120 Compact Rifle Entry Munition {CREM} ' appears to be derived from the Israeli designed Mortar, the M120 Source
  
• Castle: Castles deployable barricade has some real world value, but other than this Ballistic Blanket there isn't much in the way of a real world counterpart. If anything, Castle's barricades are a mixture of this Kevlar blanket, and some kind of steel reinforcement.
  
• Pulse: It's been said a million since it was in CoD, but a heartbeat sensor, at least like the one in game, does not exit IRL. The inspiration for the one that Pulse wields is probably some kind of Thermal Camera or perhaps something along the lines of a radar tool as seen in this cringey fox news update
  
• Doc: I've been wanting to figure out what's in this guy's syringes. The man must be a medical genius to develop a drug that instantly repairs bullet wounds (at least in a way that's better than the other team mates patting the victim on the back). In doing some research, I found These cool fluid administering guns that combat medics carry. It seems to be some inspiration for the dart gun in the current game. As for the content of the stem pistol, I'd say that a mixture of Epinephrine (adrenaline) and perhaps morphine or naproxen. This would make the most sense because the adrenaline would account for the extra health given to an operator when stemming them at full health. Naproxen in particular is used as a pain killer and to reduce swelling, and is also carried by combat medics. Source on that
  

[EDIT]- zironicdk has pointed out that combination of adrenaline and morphine would likely not have the effect that I thought it would. So Doc probably uses something more attune to fentanyl.

• Rook: This one is fairly easy. He carries trauma plates for his teammates to install in their own armor. As for size and shape, most common trauma plates are 5" x 8", but can also be as big as 10" x 12". As for thickness, I doubt Rook gives his teammates anything more than 1/2 inch. Here's a link for those that have wanted to buy them for yourself
  
• Montagne: Our first shield character! Now you might think that he was obviously just based off of some idea the devs had for making a shield character, but I think I've found the inspiration for this characters ability. The idea for a ballistic shield with moving parts can be compared to the real life XPS G-2 Ballistic Shield. As you can see here, it's pretty bad ass. Too bad these poor guys will more than likely be killed by a valk C4.
  
• Twitch: Recently buffed and feeling pumped. This one is hard. So Let's figure out some specifics, rather than the macro-scale, the way we did with Montagne. The drone itself is based on the regular drone (which is maybe based on this drone?) with some balancing tweaks. So as for the drone's darts that it fires, I think those would based on the M18 Air taser, something that is legal in 43 of the American States and administers a 50,000 volt shock to the perp. This would be the most logical choice as it is air propelled and there appears to be CO2 cartridges on twitch's drone.
  
• Blackbread: Headshot-McNot. This guy is tough to deal with in game, and would probably be just as difficult IRL. The original pre-release blackbeard sported a rifle shield that looked roughly like This, but now has something the better resembles a motorcycle windshield. What is it made of? My bet would be half inch thick bullet resistant glass/ poly carbonate mix. I only say that it's a half inch thick because Blackbeard is so damn slow when it's deployed on his rifle.
  

[EDIT]- It appears that the material for Blackbeards shield is actually based off the TAGS or Transparent Armor Gun Shield used in the Israeli Defense Force and US Army M1 Abrams, as well as some HMMWVs. Credit to mrtrotskygrad for that one.

• Valkyrie: The intel-gatherer for team rainbow. This wonderful operator seems to have her Black Eye Cameras derived from these tactical camera balls from the institue MIT. In that link, the guy even has the cool 'IQ-esque' iphone DS thing. That being said, I'd honestly be willing to bet Valk just coated her cams in some industrial grade adhesive and called in science enough for the Navy.

Quick break for now. I'll try to finish some more later tonight.
Edit 12000: Let's get back into this.

• IQ: The only operator whose full op name is capitalized. Much like Pulse, there's not much of a real world equivalent, at least in the way it's portrayed in game. If I had to guess about the workings of the device however, I'd bet IQ used some type of electromagnet in order to detect currents in or around nearby gadgets, kinda like This thing. As for the screen she has, it very well could be a Nintendo DS and still serve the same practical purpose.
  
• Blitz: The jokester of Team Rainbow. Blitz sports another ballistic shield that has the added benefit of taking screen shots of blinded enemies ^{Sorry microwave} Blinding enemies at close range. Right off the bat, I would guess that Blitz uses Five capacitors in the shield to deliver modified camera flashes... Probably the 3 to 5 v ones from the earlier experiment. Now I know that This source say the shield delivers flash bang grenades via a 3x8 grid, but I find that stupid and Blitz is not a stupid character. Plus the shield obviously has bulbs and not grenades in it...
  
• Jager: The work horse of defensive roaming. Jager's ADS's or 'Active Defense System' are based off of real world tank technology. It's specifically based off the German AMAP-ADS. Can someone make a version that is small and made for slower moving targets such as grenades? Slower projectiles? Easily. But small and mobile? My guess would be that the battery life would have to be terribly short. However, in the short four minute rounds of Rainbow Six: Siege, this doesn't seem like much of a problem. It does, however, make the system seem a lot more useless in ANY other scenario.
  
• Bandit: The criminal. The guy has car batteries. It seems fairly simple to say that 'it's just a car battery that he wires to metal things to shock people' but I think there's more to it than that. The standard car battery is 12.6 volts. Which is actually not quite enough to stop the heart of kill a human being. The limiting factor here is that the car battery does not have the current necessary to kill a person. However, if you arc the loop causing heat, as demonstrated here, the heat of the arc can easily injure or kill someone. Also, did anyone else know that Bandit's device is called the CED (Crude Electrical Device)? Seen Here
  

[EDIT]- Many people have pointed out that even discounting the voltage of the batteries, it's be hard for bandit to find a ground to connect to in order to shock attackers via a wall. thanks jaffa1987

• Glaz: Sniper Bob Ross of the team. Glaz has the OTS-03. His 'device' if you call it that is his flip up scope which is very real and very purchaseable for $60 from Amazon Here. As for his bad ass taste in art, I'll never be sure how he fit that entire afro in that cap of his.
  
• Fuze: Hostage TKer. Fuze is an interesting guy whose gadget has me interested. And since there's really nothing like Fuze's device in the real world, I decided to calculate the amount of force needed to punch a hole in the wall big enough to shoot grenades through. According to this frustratingly pedantic forum thread, the ballpark for the amount of force from a full sledgehammer blow is about 1200 lbs. Now I'm using this as a number to compare the piston on fuzzies device because the area is similar, and the elapsed time of use is also similar. Assuming this is about right for fuze's device, those four little anchors on the sides would have to withstand about 300 pounds each. Which isn't impossible, but it does raise the question of 'why doesn't the device go flying off the wall when the piston is activated?'. Also, Fuze has a weak shield.
  
• Kapkan: The other Russian trap that no one falls for anymore. This one is actually fairly disappointing. The only interesting part is the optical laser that is part of the device. For some reason, Kapkan decided the laser should be visible, while anyone with an automatic garage door could tell you that lasers can also be invisible. Other than that small detail, Kapkan's Entry Denial Device is pretty much just a circuit that sets off C-4 when tripped. source
  
• Tachanka: The dead meme (yet lovable dope) operator. Chanka literally fires an RP-46 Soviet-Era machine gun. The particular type that Tachanka uses is a model that was made in 1946

Alright! Let's finish the operators!

• Buck: The aggressor of Team Rainbow. Buck's skeleton key is almost exactly the M26 Modular Shotgun Accessory from the U.S. The gun is designed to fit on to M16s and M4s and being that Buck uses the Canadian version of the M4, this would make the most sense. Also, fun fact; The M26 system was designed to replace the M500 entirely in the US Military. Credit to Kaffeinated_Kenny for finding the exact gun.
  
• Frost: The Asian chick that used to be OP. Frost's device seems like a fairly unique invention from the Siege team, with no real life counter-part other than the painfully obvious 'bear trap. I'd be willing to bet the creators of the in game version were simply tasked with 'creating a bear trap device that looks tacticool' or something like that,
  
• Capitao: Capitao uses a tactical crossbow to fire 'asphyxiation bolts' and 'Smoke grenades' at OPFOR. The crossbow itself is strange, as I could not find any magazine fed crossbows in use by modern forces. The smoke aspect appears to be perfectly possible, as this youtuber will show. As for the fire bolts, there is some debate in my mind as to whether the damage dealt from them would really be from asphyxiation, or from the fire burning instead. In my mind, it seems impossible for any kind of asphyxiation to deal more or equal damage when compared to a big ball of fire.
  
• Caveira: The crazy chick with a head stabbing fetish. Cav doesn't really seem to have a gadget typical of Team Rainbow, being that tip toeing and stabbing someone in the head aren't really anything new to combat. However, the Luison handgun that she sports is actually a bit interesting. She has a custom made suppressor that does an excellent job of knocking down the decibels of her gun. In real life, such a suppressor is possible as many suppressors can get ridiculously quiet. Cav's hand gun is a larger caliber than this guys .22, but it's not much harder to make higher calibers quiet

• Hibana: The Thermite fangirl of Rainbow Six. Hibana uses the X-Kairos 40mm launcher to shoot three sets of six explosive pellets at a reinforced wall in order to make some really unique fucking holes. Like I stated with Termite, Hibana probably actually uses Thermate in order to heat up enough to weaken the solid inch of steel that is a reinforced wall. As for the plausability of a real world X-Kairos launcher, I'd say that it's something that you could probably make in your garage. My only stipulation here is that the way they spring out in a pattern once they hit the target seems a little too complex to be necessary. I could be wrong, but otherwise, this is a surprisingly simple one... source
  
• Echo: Echo is one of the first operators whose gadget really seems to be diving in to science-fiction. While his yokai drone itself doesn't seem super unrealistic, it's the supersonic burst fire that is. There is a real-world equivalent to this technology in the LRAD Sonic Weapon, but the amount of power it consumes and the size of the device itself points to the un-plausibility of the Yokai drone. Also the fact that it has a sort of active camouflage would consume even more energy. And if you are wondering, yes there are experiments that have achieved some type of active camo via The Thermoelectric Effect, however, nothing the size of the drone has been done or attempted before. If you ask me, Yokai just has some LCD screens glued to him.

Charity Begins At Home

New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood is suing the Trump Foundation, along with President Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump for “extensive and persistent violations of state and federal law.” The suit claims they coordinated unlawfully with Trump’s campaign, and misused the nonprofit to pay creditors, settle legal issues, decorate his golf clubs, and more.
David Fahrenthold’s Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting during the campaign made clear that the Trump Foundation was a giant scam, but the broader campaign press corps largely fixated on the Clinton Foundation (an actual charity), and the potential conflict of interest it would present if she were to win the presidency. How did that turn out again?
Trump is of course attacking the suit as politically motivated, but Underwood is a distinguished career attorney (including a brief stint as acting solicitor general in the George W. Bush administration) who is not seeking election, so it’s more likely that he is good and fucked. Bad Faith and The IG Report

Today, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a 500-page report concluding that former FBI Director James Comey violated department norms, and usurped the attorney general’s authority, by criticizing Clinton repeatedly during the election. Maybe he should have spent less time quoting philosophers on Instagram and a little more time doing his job properly.
The report concludes that Comey’s violations—and his recommendation that Clinton should not be prosecuted—weren’t politically motivated, but cites multiple witnesses saying Comey was effectively bullied into harshly criticizing Clinton because he feared right-wing criticism. Which is fair, because Russian trolls can be pretty mean on Twitter.
Still, many political reporters focused their commentary on President Trump and the GOP, predicting a bad-faith effort from Trump supporters to misconstrue the report as evidence of FBI and DOJ bias against Trump and his campaign, rather than just some really unfortunate texts from two individuals.

Paul Ryan is once again claiming to be oblivious to what’s happening in the government he’s constitutionally obligated to oversee. The House speaker responded to a question about his confidence in EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt by saying: "Frankly I haven't paid that close attention to it… I don't know enough about what Pruitt has or has not done to give you a good comment.”
Pretending not to have seen the president’s tweets is extremely lame. But Pruitt’s abuses of power have been ongoing for months, in real life. Ryan really is intent on embarrassing himself right up until the last moment he leaves office. In the future, people will stop using the word “humiliated” and just say they were “pulling a Paul Ryan.”
